Grounds Maintenance Operative / Estate Gardener

One Property Recruitment are actively seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative / Estate Gardener to join a prestigious residential development in East London. The estate boasts extensive, mature and beautifully landscaped communal gardens, which are a key feature of the development and highly valued by residents.

This is not simply a grass-cutting role. We are looking for someone with genuine horticultural knowledge and a passion for maintaining high-quality outdoor spaces. You will take ownership of the estate’s gardens and external areas, working independently to ensure they remain immaculate throughout the year.

Your duties will include seasonal planting and pruning, lawn care, weeding, watering, mulching and general horticultural maintenance. You will also be responsible for maintaining pathways and communal external areas, operating gardening equipment safely and reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns.

Salary/benefits:

• £38,750 starting salary
• 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Criteria needed to be invited for an interview:

• Previous experience as a Grounds Maintenance Operative, Estate Gardener or similar
• Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
• Experience maintaining established gardens and landscaped areas
• Knowledge of seasonal planting, pruning and lawn care
• Ability to work independently and manage routine maintenance programmes
• High attention to detail and pride in maintaining exceptional outdoor spaces
• Ability to safely operate and maintain gardening equipment
• Professional approach when dealing with residents, contractors and the onsite management team.
